Real Estate Closings, Family Law, General Practice
I am a solo practitioner. The Tanner Law Firm consists of me, myself and I. So, you don't have to worry about getting through to an attorney, because there is nobody but 'the attorney' here. I graduated from the University of North Caroiina School of Law School in 2000. I have been in practice for over 20 years. Prior to working for myself (and hopefully for you) I worked in few small firm settings of 2 to 5 attorneys. I have always been in 'general practice' covering an unusually diverse range of legal matters in this age of niche practice and specialization (perhaps even over-specialization). While I no longer represent clients in personal injury, workers' compensation, or professional and medical malpractice cases, I have done so, and this variety of experience now provides a broad legal perspective that I bring to focus for my clients. Prior to law school, I completed a Masters Degree in Critical Theory, with Distinction, from the University of Nottingham, UK. And prior to that (many moons ago), I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Philosophy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I have been married to my remarkable wife, Jackie (a successful real estate broker-agent, and British to boot) for over 30 years, and we have three awesome children. We have lived here in Carrboro since 1994. If you need representation, let me put my knowledge, perspective and experience to work for you.
